An unusual variant of the classic bulul form, this lime container is carved as a Janus figure—two seated bodies joined back-to-back, each with its own head, hands resting on opposing shoulders. Bulul figures are traditionally tied to rice cultivation ceremonies, and honored as ancestral guardians of the harvest.

Field-collected roughly fifty years ago, the piece has developed a smooth, glossy patina from age and handling—tangible evidence of its long working life within the community it served.
