This example was originally part of a large geode. The specimen has smaller-sized sparkling crystals with good color. The outer matrix curves slightly around the crystals in places, resulting in the amethysts appearing as if they are nestled within the outer stone. The surface of the carpeted crystals rises in places, adding movement to the piece, and creating a less static crystal sculpture. The amethyst is custom-mounted horizontally on a walnut base for use as a centerpiece on a tabletop or for display on a credenza or table.
